JOIN ME, BECOME A LIFELINE
FOR 137 CHILDREN IN NEED

MY MARATHON CAMPAIGN

I am taking on my first half marathon ever: 21 km, at the Muang Thai Chiang Mai Marathon 2026.

Since the start of 2026, I have been training almost every single day, pushing myself to prepare for this challenge.
Each morning, as I build my strength and stamina, I am fuelled by one single purpose: to help and support the 137 children who live at Baan Unrak.

Why I am doing this

While my Philanthropy Connections Foundation (PCF) helps thousands of children throughout the year, I see that the world is changing. With so much going on globally, it is becoming harder to keep people engaged in what we do here. I felt I needed to do something extra, something personal. So that is why I decided to run a half marathon.

To be honest, I haven't always lived the healthiest life. But I want to be able to continue working for PCF as long as I can. By training for this half marathon, I am not only improving my own health to ensure I can keep supporting those in need, but first and foremost I am committing to a goal that is bigger than myself.

This campaign connects my personal journey with a need that simply cannot wait: the children of Baan Unrak. They rely on you and me every single day for food, a safe home, and the basic costs of their boarding house.

By supporting my run, you aren't just cheering me on; you are helping to keep their care steady and secure. Every day, for every child.

Who your support helps

Baan Unrak is a safe home and learning space for children who have faced traumatic circumstances. For many, it is the place where life becomes predictable again: regular meals, school routine, and caring adults who keep them safe.

My run campaign will support the 137 children who live and study at Baan Unrak.

The Children We Carry Hope For

Each month, we share the story of one of the 137 children. These stories will focus on each child’s difficulties or the situation they are in at the moment and the need for them to have a safe place to grow.

Rita

Rita was born with a severe cleft condition, a cleft lip and no palate at all, making it nearly impossible to eat, speak, or grow the way other babies do. While her parents were away working in Bangkok, a relative caring for Rita feared that the family could not afford the treatment she needed and sought help from Baan Unrak. She entered its care as an infant, and years of surgery and therapy have helped her carry her story with quiet strength.

Tenaiso

Tenaiso was just over a year old when doctors diagnosed him with a severe heart condition and breathing difficulties that required specialist medical treatment beyond what his family could access. After emergency surgery, his mother was unable to afford the specialised follow-up care he needed to survive, so the hospital contacted Baan Unrak for support. His early years were marked by repeated brushes with death, especially through kindergarten, but slowly, stubbornly, he grew stronger.

Ishvari

Ishvari contracted HIV from her mother's breastmilk and arrived at Baan Unrak at just ten months old, already critically ill, with brain damage from the delay in treatment. Her mother left to start a new life elsewhere, and she never knew her father at all. Years of therapy have taught her to crawl, to walk with a support device, and to feed herself, milestones no one was certain she'd reach. Despite everything, she is, simply, a happy child.

Mong Kee La

Mong Kee La was four years old when he arrived at Baan Unrak with his mother, who was terminally ill with cancer. Because of severe developmental and physical impairments, he was unable to move independently or even roll over. His mother passed away within weeks, and he was later abandoned by his father, with no other family member coming forward to care for him. Baan Unrak became his home, providing the consistent care and support he needed. Since then, Mong Kee La has learned to walk, one small step at a time, a remarkable milestone that reflects his determination and the difference that dependable care can make.

Htet Myat Kyaw

Htet Myat Kyaw is ten years old. After his parents were killed in a bombing, he was left to survive entirely on his own. He crossed the border into Thailand alone, surviving on the compassion of strangers, and was sent across the border more than once, but always found his way back to Sangkhlaburi. He was finally brought to Baan Unrak, where he now has a safe home and receives the consistent care and support he needs.

Pavana

Pavana was born to a mother who was still a teenager herself, and who had grown up an orphan, with no family of her own to lean on. Within weeks, Baan Unrak stepped in to care for them both, giving her mother something she'd never had: the chance to stay in school and build a future, while her daughter is looked after. Pavana is growing up surrounded by the stability her mother never got to have.

Jessin

Jessin was not yet a year old when her grandmother brought her to Baan Unrak. She had been raising Jessin alone, unemployed, with the child's mother too young and unsettled to care for her, and no stable place left to turn to. Letting her go was the hardest, most loving decision she could make, and Jessin will be growing up knowing she was given a chance and never given up on.

Jack

Jack was seven years old when he came into care, after years of being left alone in unsafe surroundings while his mother struggled with substance abuse. There was no one steady enough to keep him safe, and danger became something he grew up around rather than protected from. Now at Baan Unrak, Jack has what he never had before, a home that doesn't change, and people he can count on every day.

Jiranan

Jiranan is a nine-year-old boy with a physical disability. His mother was the only steady presence in his life, caring for him and his siblings alone while their father drank, used drugs, and turned violent toward her. With no income and no way out, Baan Unrak finally found Jiranan. He and his siblings now live and study together at Tonrak School, safely under one roof, for the first time ever.

Mu Htoo Wah

Mu Htoo Wah lost her mother to anemia, the same illness she would later be diagnosed with herself, and when her father remarried, there was no place for her in his new family. Her grandmother took her in and loved her, but growing older, unemployed, and unable to continue to take care of her, Mu Htoo Wah had nowhere left to go. In 2009, the grandmother brought her to Baan Unrak, asking for the help she could no longer give, and today, that same care is what keeps her illness in check.
