Building the Future, Brick by Brick: Chan’s Journey Through Practice and Perseverance
Chan has had a highly productive and hands-on semester, highlighted by the successful completion of his two-month internship as a construction assistant. He described the experience as more impactful than classroom learning, gaining confidence and technical skills in blueprint reading, measuring, and wall construction. A major highlight was designing and executing a large-scale wall project with no required revisions, an achievement praised by both his advisor and mentor.
In parallel with his internship, Chan continued working evenings at a sushi stall and remained committed to his passion for football, representing his school in several competitions. Balancing work, sport, and study has been demanding, yet he managed it all with focus and discipline.
He has enrolled in the High Vocational Certificate in Construction at his current college, having already paid the seat fee. He is seeking continued support from PCF for the remaining tuition payments.
Though he faces challenges in subjects like Electrical Power Systems and balancing time for the upcoming U23 Football Tournament, Chan is proactive, forming study groups and keeping a positive outlook.
