Rice Distribution Support
Ongoing Needs in Conflict Zones
Addressing chronic food insecurity in Myanmar’s conflict-affected IDP camps through a flexible, donor-driven support model.
A Continuous Need in a Constant Crisis
In conflict-affected areas of Myanmar, internally displaced communities face hunger not just as a temporary emergency, but as a permanent reality. The orphaned children at Wan Sein and families at Than Taung Gyi (TTG) camps live with ongoing food insecurity worsened by military checkpoints, restricted aid routes, and skyrocketing food costs.
Current humanitarian models that depend on fixed timelines and start/end dates cannot keep up. That’s why we’re working with our local partner, Lahu Women’s Organisation (LWO), to develop a rolling support model that allows us, and our donors, to respond as the need arises.

OUR VISION:
Beyond a One-Time Gift
We’re not just delivering rice. We’re building a platform where donors can walk alongside displaced communities, not just for one project, but for the long road ahead.
To provide monthly or emergency-based food relief.
Share authentic updates directly from beneficiaries.
Build a sustainable giving model that reflects real-time needs.
The Situation on the Ground

Wan Sein IDP Orphanage Centre
155 children and 4 caregivers urgently need rice.
The centre is located in a conflict zone, cut off from stable supply lines. 35 rice sacks are needed.

Than Taung Gyi IDP Camp
120 families (approx. 720 people) suffer from food shortages, conflict, and displacement. 60 rice sacks are required for two months’ support.
Challenges They Face

Conflict-related access issues and military checkpoints delayed rice delivery.

Restricted routes and unpredictable security conditions slow aid logistics.

Insufficient rice, the need outpaced the supply, even with full delivery.

Local sources confirm rising needs in medicine, dried food, and basic survival supplies.
