Run for Change: Carter Duong’s Full Marathon for Underserved Children

I have major news: This month, at 48 years old, I am running my very first marathon in my beloved city, Bangkok! With my family leaving Thailand next year, this is my last chance to run this fully sold-out race. I am really lucky I got in thanks to our neighbour, the US Ambassador.

I have never run a full marathon before, so I’m scared as "bleep", but I will try my best, and I am ready to give it everything I have!

I am running for three reasons:

  1. To make my three amazing children proud
  2. To pay it forward for society
  3. To raise money for Philanthropy Connections Foundation (PCF).

My Story, Their Future

As a child, my mother and I fled a communist regime in the '70s and received help in a refugee camp in Thailand. I was given a second chance, and today, I live in the Ambassador’s residence as the spouse of the Dutch Ambassador to Thailand. I am living proof that every child matters and benefits from philanthropic aid.

Now, I am running for children hiding from war in refugee camps, many of them without parents. Their traumas are unimaginable. PCF offers them a lifeline by providing shelter, food, and education. It allows them to just be children again and dream of a better future.
Every child deserves safety, education, and the chance to dream.

Please be my cheerleader and help me pay it forward!
Support my marathon goal and directly support these children. Any amount is greatly appreciated.
