A determined 17-year-old student at the Young Women Development Institute in Chiang Mai, Ly is having a problem overcoming financial challenges. After the loss of her father, her mother and stepfather have worked tirelessly as farmers in Sameong District, Thailand, but their unstable income and increasing debt make it impossible to support her educational journey.

Favourite Hobbies: I enjoy drawing cartoon characters, watching anime, reading books, and staying informed by watching the news.
Hidden Talent: I believe my hidden talent is drawing. Whenever I draw, it brings me genuine happiness and a sense of fulfilment. It’s something I truly love, and that’s why I consider it my special gift.
Personal Motto: “If you don’t take the step forward, no matter how close you are, you’ll never reach your goal.”
Most Memorable Experience: One of my most unforgettable experiences was a school field trip to the seaside. It was my first time seeing the ocean, and I was filled with excitement. The beautiful scenery, the variety of seashells, and the opportunity to share the moment with friends made it a truly joyful and meaningful day.
Relaxation: When I’m feeling stressed or overwhelmed, I find peace by listening to calming music and drawing cartoon illustrations. It helps me unwind and regain a positive mindset.

Despite these obstacles, Ly has excelled academically and dreams of enrolling in the Certificate Programme for Practical Nursing at Payap University. Her commitment to learning and her compassionate nature make her an outstanding candidate for a career in healthcare. As a young woman from the Lisu ethnic group, Lee’s success would inspire others in her community to pursue education and overcome similar barriers.

Care in Practice: Ly’s Journey Through Compassion, Commitment, and Clinical Training

Scholarship Update: July–November 2025

Naphatson “Ly” Sinchao is progressing through her one-year Nursing Practice Certificate Programme with determination, despite the intensive academic and clinical demands. Over the past five months, she has moved from foundational coursework to hands-on hospital training, steadily developing the knowledge, confidence, and discipline needed for a future in healthcare.

While subjects like English and Medical Terminology remain challenging, Ly continues to perform well in elderly care and health service topics. She regularly participates in group assignments, simulations, and practicals, from patient bathing to tube feeding and pulse checks. Her recent ward placement at Sankhayaom Health Promoting Hospital has been especially valuable, providing real-world insight into patient care and teamwork under pressure.

Personally, Ly balances stress through quiet self-care: cooking simple meals, reading comics, and enjoying the occasional bubble milk tea. Despite long hours and physical exhaustion, she has shown increased punctuality, strong time-management, and emotional resilience.

Ly is proud of her progress, from mastering basic nursing procedures to adjusting to fast-paced ward environments, and sees every step as preparation for her future role in healthcare. Her coursework continues with assignments like a mental health promotion project for the elderly and skill-based evaluations in the months ahead.
